Full job description after the jump.

A couple months ago I wrote about drummer-extraordinaire Josh Freese’s plan to sell his CD and himself for upwards of $75,000. Let’s face it: the idea was pretty ridiculous, but who’s laughing now?
A fan actually paid $20,000 to travel to California and hang out with Freese, spend some quality time in a recording studio, and grab some of the drummer’s personal items from his closet. Freese has also found 25 people to pony up for meals with him ($250), and much more. For those of you in the Los Angeles area, there are still some other packages left.
JDub Records, the cutting edge, non-profit record and event production company promoting new Jewish music and cross cultural dialogue is seeking college interns both immediately and/or for summer for 10 hours per week (2 days, 5 hours each).
We are looking for hard working and energetic students to assist in the following areas:
Marketing: Tech-savvy students to assist with digital and physical marketing and promotions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to social networking oversight, street team interaction, website updates, lifestyle marketing, general administrative help, and assistance on special projects.
Graphic design: Graphic design students with Illustrator and Photoshop experience to help create marketing materials for events and record releases. Responsibilities include concepting and executing on brand and eye catching promotional materials, and assistance on special projects. Willingness to also help with marketing as well is a big plus!
HTML encoding is a big plus, but not required. Mac knowledge is a must, and the right candidate for either position must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
This is an unpaid part-time position available for college credit, but not without perks. This is an opportunity to learn from a successful indie record label and artist development company as well as a forward thinking Jewish cultural organization. Open to college juniors and seniors only.
Please email info@jdubrecords.org with your resume, the top three reasons you want to be a JDub intern, and what music you’re listening to right now.

Josh Freese is releasing a solo CD (he has also played drums for Nine Inch Nails, The Vandals, Devo, and a million other bands), and his marketing plan is pushing the boundaries of usual (and safe) music business practices. He has created a price menu, which starts at $7 for a digital download of the album, and reaches $75,000 for the following:
We’ll let you know when JDub artists start similar sales campaigns.
