The last time Israeli dj crew Soulico and MCs Axum were here in the states, we took them over to Orchard’s sweet ass studio in the East Village and without question they tore it down!

Back in January, Soulico hosted a crazy release party for Exotic on the Speaker in Tel Aviv @  Barzilay and were joined on stage by a crew of guests including Axum, Idan K, Kutiman and more. Check out a clip from the show.

The results are in for the winners of  Soulico’s  Exotic on the Speaker Remix Contest. Big thanks to all who submitted remixes, it was tough to pick the winners, but we chose what we thought were the cream of the crop here. So congrats to the winners and all the producers who submitted a remix. DJ Shimi Sonic, 1/4 of the Tel Aviv based dj Crew Soulico, just provided me with his pretty dope remix of Nancy Sinatra’s Boots are Made for Walking,

laid over some live vintage footage of Ms. Sinatra performing the tune.  Soulico’s newest album Exotic on the Speaker is still gaining some buzz and strength all over the web and streets, check it  out HERE.

The tour is over, Soulico’s back in Israel and I’m back to sitting at my desk in JDub World Headquarters.  Faces were rocked off, people fainted and everyone danced their asses off.  Soulico arrived in the US ready to party and those who attended were not dissapointed.  From performing with Ceci Bastida in LA and MC Zulu in Chicago to rocking a packed costumed crowd in Denver, partying with Emory Students in Atlanta, playing late into the night in Miami and watching the Mercury Lounge in New York get down, the tour was incredible.  Thanks to all that came out, we had an amazing time sharing this music with you and hope you had as good a time as we did.

Hey everyone!  Ready for a new feature?  Every Friday I’m going to do a very helpful roundup of all the cool stuff we had on the blog during the week, just for you kind readers that may have missed out.  Without further ado:

- The Sway Machinery played in Krakow, and while they were there they covered “Billie Jean.”  Check out the video!

- Michael & Michael Have Issues premiered on Comedy Central, and we were there to watch.  We’re also running a contest where you can win a copy of The State and STELLA on DVD, but enter now because time is running out!

- Sagol59 let us know that a high-ranking KKK member was apprehended in Israel this week, apparently hiding with his pregnant Israeli girlfriend.  Talk about irony!

- Soulico dropped the first two singles, “Put ‘em Up” and “SOS”,  from their upcoming album Exotic on the Speaker.  Get them on iTunes!

- DeLeon is going on tour with Gogol Bordello!  Actually, this wasn’t a post from this week, but I just thought you needed a reminder.
