BAR MITZVAH TUTORING IN SPACE
OK, not really space, but cyberspace. This morning I had my first video-chat lesson with my bat mitzvah student, R. (Yes, I am a punk rock tutor of bat mitzvah girls. Yes, I teach bar mitzvah boys too.)
R. lives in town and I usually go to her house, but she was away this week. I’ve done phone meetings in the past, but neither of us have reliable phones right now (damn your service, iphone, but I love you anyway). And so it was that at 10:30 this morning I was listening to R. chant her haftarah on gchat. You’ll be glad to know her haftarah sounds excellent.
